Doojin Sa, Head of AFC Professional Football Department, participated in a significant event at the Vietnam Football Federation.
On October 8th, the Vietnam Football Federation headquarters hosted the opening ceremony of the 2025 Vietnam Professional Football Club Licensing Workshop.
Mr. Doojin Sa – Head of AFC Professional Football Department shared: “In recent years, the Vietnam Football Federation has effectively implemented club licensing, laying a solid foundation for the professionalization of football. This workshop is an opportunity to gain knowledge and for delegates to share opinions and feedback to further improve the licensing process. I hope everyone will actively and attentively participate in the discussions.”
Mr. Doojin Sa further mentioned that AFC’s club-level competitions have been restructured and successfully launched, opening a new chapter for professional football in Asia. “We have high expectations that Vietnamese clubs will seize this opportunity and perform strongly on the continental stage,” said Mr. Doojin Sa.
The workshop program included: an overview of club licensing work in Vietnam; updates on AFC club competition participation regulations; in-depth discussions on licensing criteria groups including financial, infrastructure, sporting, administrative, and legal aspects; along with a special topic on youth football development.
The workshop also dedicated time for discussions and summaries aimed at enhancing management capacity, standardizing club operations, and strengthening professionalism and transparency in Vietnam’s football system.
According to the plan, the Vietnam Football Federation will continue to accompany and take concrete actions to improve youth training capacity, increase transparency in licensing activities, and cooperate with AFC to elevate the quality of professional football in Vietnam in the coming period.
