The leadership group of Vietnam’s national team for the two matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers has been confirmed.
Accordingly, central defender Đỗ Duy Mạnh will wear the captain’s armband for the Vietnam team. The two vice-captains are midfielder Nguyễn Hoàng Đức and defender Cao Quang Vinh.
At the pre-match press conference held at 4:15 PM on October 8 at Gò Đậu Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), captain Duy Mạnh represented the players alongside head coach Kim Sang Sik.
The Hanoi FC center-back said: "The Vietnam national team has been gathered for several days. The weather here is quite different from the North, which might cause difficulties for some players. However, as professional players, we must adapt to all conditions. The entire team’s objective remains to win.
Certainly, no match is easy. I will work with the whole team to strive and encourage each other towards the best result. This is a very important match, and I hope fans will come in large numbers to cheer for the team."
Vietnam will take the field wearing their traditional red uniforms.
The match between Vietnam and Nepal will kick off at 7:30 PM on October 9 at Gò Đậu Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), with live broadcasts on VFF Channel, FPT Play, and VTV.
