Coach Matt Ross: ‘Nepal is the underdog, forced to play defensively’

Coach Matt Ross admitted that Nepal is the underdog compared to Vietnam and therefore must adopt a defensive approach when facing them in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Still, his aim and that of his team is to secure at least one point.

"Our goal is to get points. Winning all three would be excellent, but one point is enough to be satisfied," Coach Matt Ross stated at the start of the press conference before the match against Vietnam.

The Australian coach further shared: "After the recent game against Laos, we gained valuable experience and now know what we need to do when playing Vietnam.
