U23 Vietnam eagerly anticipates the encounter with U23 Qatar

The U23 Vietnam team arrived in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on the evening of October 7, officially starting their international training camp as part of the preparation for SEA Games 33 and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship.

According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), after settling into their accommodation and resting to recover from the long flight, this morning (October 8), the coaching staff organized a light training session within the hotel premises. The session was designed to help players loosen their muscles, release energy, and adapt to the weather and time zone differences in the UAE.

The entire team’s atmosphere was relaxed and spirited, demonstrating the players’ high level of focus.

The U23 Vietnam players felt mentally relaxed before facing U23 Qatar

This afternoon, the U23 Vietnam team will begin a tactical training session to prepare for their first friendly match against U23 Qatar, which will take place at 321Sports Stadium at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM Vietnam time) on October 9.

Before training, Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh will hold a technical meeting to devise tactics and select the playing squad for U23 Vietnam.

This match is one of two friendlies for U23 Vietnam during their training camp in the UAE, organized jointly by VFF and the Qatar Football Association (QFA). The aim of these matches is to help U23 Vietnam continue to refine their squad, practice tactics, and test the team in preparation for SEA Games 33 and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship.

Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh stated this is an important opportunity to evaluate and develop the team: "Facing strong opponents like U23 Qatar is a valuable chance. These two matches will help the coaching staff better assess the team’s potential, adaptability, and identify quality players to report to Head Coach Kim Sang Sik, thus preparing well for upcoming training camps.

From the players’ side, midfielder Nguyễn Văn Trường shared: "Recently, the U23 Vietnam team has been given opportunities by VFF to participate in many tournaments and high-quality international training camps. The whole team is preparing at their best for two important upcoming goals: SEA Games 33 and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship. We will strive to do our best to live up to the fans’ expectations."

The training camp in the UAE is an important step in the comprehensive preparation plan that VFF has developed for the U23 Vietnam team, helping the young squad continue to develop, gain international experience, and aim for new achievements.

This is also part of the football development cooperation program between VFF and QFA, signed since 2023.
