Manchester United has set a price for Bruno Fernandes next summer, but it may fall short of £100 million! Cristiano Ronaldo’s role is crucial in Fernandes’ future.

As reported by "indykaila News," also known as "Green Hat Brother," Manchester United has agreed with the Saudi Professional League to transfer Bruno Fernandes to one of the clubs owned by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund next summer for a fee of £100 million.

The report states that Manchester United intends to invest this sum to acquire Carlos Baleba from Brighton and Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The deal has been preliminarily agreed upon, with only personal terms for Fernandes remaining to be resolved.

In response, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said it is purely speculative to declare Fernandes’ future at this point. "There is absolutely no conclusion yet. Fernandes is focused on Manchester United; he signed a new contract just a year ago, so there are no concrete transfer developments at this stage. Saudi Arabia remains interested and has pursued him for three years, but there are no further updates now."

Another expert, Ben Jacobs, expressed doubt that Fernandes would fetch £100 million next year, suggesting a more realistic valuation from Manchester United would be around £60 million. Jacobs stated, "Manchester United will price Fernandes at £60 million next summer, and Saudi clubs are already aware of this figure."

Manchester United might visit Saudi Arabia during this season for a mid-season friendly match to generate revenue, where more detailed discussions could take place. Meanwhile, Fernandes’ brother-in-law and agent, Miguel Pinho, has maintained continuous contact with Saudi officials, having met multiple times over the years and established a strong relationship.

The English media outlet "talkSPORT" emphasized that despite ongoing rumors, Fernandes has already made his position on his Manchester United future very clear. It is highly unlikely that he will leave United in the January transfer window; his agent has already informed interested clubs during the summer window that Fernandes will remain at Manchester United throughout the 2025/26 season.

Currently, Fernandes’ stance remains unchanged; he will not consider a transfer during what could be his final six months playing for Portugal in the World Cup. However, after the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico, Fernandes will reconsider, especially since a move could potentially double his £300,000 weekly wage. Although the salary would be twice as much on paper, factoring in tax exemptions and other benefits, his actual earnings could be four times higher than in the Premier League!

Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract extension with Al Nassr may play a key role in Fernandes’ decision. Ronaldo holds some influence within the club and could likely help persuade his Portuguese compatriot and former Manchester United teammate to join the Saudi league. This season, Al Nassr has started the Saudi Pro League with four straight wins, scoring 14 goals and conceding only one, currently leading the table.

Rumors suggest Ronaldo also wants to recruit Manchester United defender Harry Maguire. The 32-year-old English center-back is in the final year of his contract and can negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January if he does not renew. The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United is discussing a new contract with Maguire, but whether an agreement is reached depends on factors like wage reductions and playing time.

Maguire currently earns £190,000 per week but would need to accept a pay cut to around £100,000 to secure a new deal from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group. Whether the financial lure from Saudi Arabia will influence Maguire’s decision remains uncertain. Manchester United triggered a one-year extension clause in Maguire’s contract this summer, a move he claims was made without his consent.
