Ronaldo’s aquarium remark might not suit all ex-Man United players, particularly Martial, whose promising start has faded. This 29-year-old French striker transferred this summer from AEK Athens to Mexican side Monterrey for just €1 million, essentially a bargain. Teaming up with former Real Madrid captain Ramos, Martial is now an experienced player who has yet to register a goal or assist in 4 matches for his new club.

According to Transfermarkt data, 29-year-old Martial currently holds a market value of €7.5 million, down from his career peak of €65 million. Despite this decline, he remains Monterrey’s most valuable player. Since joining Monterrey, Martial has appeared 4 times in Liga MX, starting once, totaling 160 minutes on the pitch without scoring or assisting. His last official goal came back in February, marking an 8-month scoring drought for the French forward.

At 19, Martial joined Manchester United in the 2015 summer transfer window for €60 million, while his market value was only €8 million, reflecting how highly United’s management rated him.
