The Football Association has focused on improving the quality of youth training: the total number of registered coaches and elite youth players has grown steadily

On January 9, Beijing time, the second meeting of the 12th Congress of the Chinese Football Association was held in Beijing, and Song Kai, chairman of the Chinese Football Association, made a report on the work of the Chinese Football Association in 2024 at the meeting.

In 2024, the number of registered elite junior players in the country will be 92,979, an increase of 5,502 compared to 2023, a growth rate of 6.3%. There were 1,689 junior registered events, an increase of 1,074 or 175% from 2023. The number of youth competitions registered was 43,042, an increase of 128% year-on-year.

In terms of speeding up the construction of the youth coach team, the Chinese Football Association and six universities including Beijing Sports University jointly built a football academy to play the role of the main position of talent training in colleges and universities. The "Millions of Talents Project" action plan for coaches has effectively strengthened the construction of football professionals, and the total number of registered coaches in 2024 has increased by 13,441 compared to 2023. Improve the assessment system for licensed youth football coaches, add elite youth training B-level, elite youth training level, and youth training director training, and promote the training of youth coaches from the growth of "quantity" to the improvement of "quality".

In addition, the Chinese Football Association has also made many efforts in many aspects, such as changing the concept of youth training, focusing on the construction of key cities for football development, optimizing the youth competition system, and adhering to the international perspective of youth training.
