Leaving Barca, Lewandowski may join the Madrid powerhouse

According to multiple sources from Spain, the Catalan club's management has no plans to renew the Polish striker's deal, opening the possibility that he will leave Camp Nou after three seasons.

Lewandowski joined Barca in the summer of 2022 from Bayern Munich with expectations to lead the attack. Reporter Mateusz Święcicki revealed his belief that the veteran striker might follow Luis Suárez by leaving Barca to join Atletico Madrid. “AC Milan is a possibility, but I have a feeling Lewandowski will spend a season at Atletico Madrid. He could form a formidable strike partnership with Sorloth, and let's not forget Atletico's past success with signings like David Villa and Luis Suarez,” Święcicki commented.

Besides Atletico, Lewandowski is also targeted by AC Milan and several clubs in the Saudi Pro League, where many top European stars have recently chosen to "land." However, it is considered more likely that he will continue playing in Europe, as Lewandowski himself has stated he still has the fitness and desire to compete at the highest level.

Approaching 38 years old in August 2026, Lewandowski maintains a strict training regimen and a commendable professional mindset. He has repeatedly emphasized that retirement is not on his mind and that he wants to finish his career at a club with ambitions to compete for titles.
