Thailand faces Singapore ahead of a crucial match in the Asian Cup qualifiers

Thailand is set to compete against Singapore in a friendly scheduled for November 13 at Thammasat Stadium, regarded as a key warm-up for the 2027 Asian Cup qualification.

Two impressive victories against Taiwan in October have opened the door wide for Thailand to reach the 2027 Asian Cup finals. From being at high risk of elimination, the "War Elephants" now have 9 points, equal to Turkmenistan but currently ranked lower due to an inferior head-to-head record.

Therefore, before aiming to defeat this same opponent in the final match in March 2026, Thailand must first secure all 3 points against Sri Lanka this November. Sri Lanka has been rising strongly thanks to naturalized players and recently caused a major upset by beating Turkmenistan in one of the two matches last October.

According to the latest information, the Football Association of Thailand has confirmed the FIFA Days schedule for November 2025, with the national team set to play an international friendly against Singapore as part of their preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers.

Since there is only one official match in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers in November, the friendly against Singapore will be held before the Thailand vs Sri Lanka game. Since 1956, Singapore has never qualified for the Asian Cup through the qualification rounds. The only time the "Lions" participated in the continent’s top tournament was in 1984 when they hosted the event.
