Hanoi FC posted a special note of thanks to the Liverpool Fans Club in Vietnam (LFCVN) following their visit to Hang Day Stadium to support coach Harry Kewell in his first game leading the capital’s club.
According to information from the Liverpool Fans Club in Vietnam, about 200 Liverpool supporters received invitation tickets from Hanoi FC to attend the match at Hang Day Stadium last night. This was the first match where coach Harry Kewell, the former Australian star who once played for Liverpool, officially managed Hanoi FC in the V-League.
Beyond showing their usual passionate spirit, The Kop fans also created a lively atmosphere in the stands. In response to this affection, Harry Kewell approached the section where the Liverpool supporters were seated both at the start of the match and at the beginning of the second half to wave and express his thanks. This friendly gesture highlighted the bond between the Australian coach and the special fans who came to support him on his debut day.
According to LFCVN, since Hanoi FC lost to Ninh Binh in this game, Coach Kewell had to focus on working with his players after the match and could not spend more time with the fans. However, the club stated that they will arrange a special meeting between Coach Harry Kewell and the Liverpool fans in Vietnam soon as a token of appreciation for their support.
The LFCVN fan club also expressed their gratitude to Hanoi FC for the special gift of tickets to the match. They shared their excitement about meeting Kewell again, one of Liverpool’s memorable players from the early 2000s, in his new journey in Vietnam.
Although the start in terms of results was not perfect, the presence of Coach Harry Kewell is bringing new appeal and enthusiasm to football in the capital. With his professional spirit and the support of fans, Kewell is expected to soon help Hanoi FC regain its former form in the upcoming period.
