The 2.06m tall striker brings disappointing news for Nam Dinh FC

According to various reports, the 2.06m tall forward Kyle Hudlin from Thep Xanh Nam Dinh is dealing with a torn ligament injury, with no clear timeline for his comeback.

Multiple sources confirm that the 2.06m tall striker Kyle Hudlin of Thep Xanh Nam Dinh has sustained a ligament tear and it remains unclear when the English forward will be fit to play again. The long-term absence of one of the tallest strikers in the world is a significant loss for the Nam Dinh team, which is currently going through a dip in form in the 2025/26 V-League season.

Hudlin had been a major hope for Nam Dinh in the 2025/26 season following his explosive performance in the National Super Cup, where he scored twice against CAHN club, but this serious injury now complicates head coach Vu Hong Viet’s plans to utilize the English striker.

Besides losing Hudlin, several key players of the Nam Dinh team such as Kevin Pham Ba and Caio Cesar are also injured and have not been able to train so far.

Currently, Nam Dinh FC is also facing a performance crisis. After an exciting start to the 2025-2026 season, the reigning V-League champions have entered a difficult period. The 1-2 loss to Becamex TP.HCM on the evening of October 18 in round 7 of the V-League extended Nam Dinh’s losing streak to three matches this season, following consecutive 0-2 defeats against Ninh Binh and Hanoi Police.

The lack of sharpness in attack and frequent defensive mistakes have caused Nam Dinh to lose their status as reigning champions. The absence of Hudlin, a player known for his aerial ability and hold-up play, has noticeably affected the team’s strength in aerial tactics, which used to be one of their key advantages.

In the context of a tight match schedule and the team’s morale being affected, coach Vu Hong Viet has had to rely on the available players to try to end the current crisis of the Nam Dinh squad.

The season is still long, but losing a “beacon” in attack like Kyle Hudlin will definitely pose a significant challenge for Thep Xanh Nam Dinh in their quest to defend their V-League title.
