Coach Ishii sends a message to Thai fans, hoping the new coach will embody the warrior spirit

Masatada Ishii, the former head coach of Thailand’s national football team, sent a heartfelt message to Thai fans via J-doradic, expressing his hope that the new coach will continue to work with the same dedication and commitment to advancing Thai football as he did.

After J-doradic published an article offering encouragement to Coach Ishii — gathering and sharing supportive comments from Thai fans across various social media platforms — the Japanese tactician replied with a message of thanks and sincere thoughts:

"I have always given my utmost effort with a spirit of full dedication, hoping to help Thai football develop step by step," Ishii wrote.

"Therefore, I wish the next coach will have the same enthusiasm and continue striving to push Thai football forward."

Masatada Ishii began coaching the Thailand national team in December 2023, achieving 16 victories in 30 matches, with a winning percentage of 53% during his tenure.

On the afternoon of October 22, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) officially appointed Anthony Hudson as the new head coach of the national team, replacing Masatada Ishii. The detailed reason was personally explained by Madam Pang, the Chairwoman: "Due to time constraints, the association decided to appoint Mr. Anthony Hudson, FAT’s Technical Development Director, as the interim head coach of the Thailand national team.

Mr. Hudson has previously been head coach of the USA, New Zealand, and Bahrain teams, and is well familiar with the Thai football system — considered the most suitable candidate at this moment.

"In football, dismissing a coach is normal. But national team football is not a laboratory — we only have 90 minutes per game to prove ourselves, and every result affects the fans’ confidence," said Nualphan Lamsam, also known as Madam Pang, Chairwoman of the Football Association of Thailand.
