A Real Madrid player was shown a straight red card, and six teammates were booked with yellow cards in the closing moments of the El Clasico.
Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 at the Bernabeu stadium thanks to first-half goals from Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. These two strikes were separated by Fermin Lopez’s equalizer for the visitors.
Minutes before the game ended, a scuffle broke out between the two technical areas after Pedri received a second yellow card for fouling Aurelien Tchouameni. Referee Cesar Soto Grado issued multiple yellow cards, including to Real Madrid's center-back Eder Militao and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who was off the pitch at the time.
The incident was soon overshadowed by a heated argument between Vinicius Jr and Lamine Yamal immediately after the final whistle. However, once order was restored, referee Grado noted in his report that he had booked six players and sent off one for involvement in the bench altercation.
According to COPE, Lunin was given a direct red card for leaving the technical area and aggressively advancing toward the opponent’s section, forcing teammates to restrain him. Militao was cautioned for “confronting opposing players without using insulting or threatening language.” Additionally, Rodrygo and Vinicius received yellow cards for similar reasons, although the incident was not captured live on television.
On Barcelona’s side, Alex Balde and Ferran Torres were penalized for similar conduct, while Fermin Lopez got a yellow card for “recklessly pushing an opponent, causing the scuffle.”
Vinícius Jr reportedly taunted Yamal directly: “Just passing back all the time? Why don’t you dare to dribble anymore?”, leaving the young Barcelona talent silent at the Bernabéu.
Shortly after, Jude Bellingham posted a series of celebration photos on Instagram with a cryptic caption: “Talk is cheap. HALA MADRID SIEMPRE!!!” (Talking is easy. Hala Madrid forever!) which was seen as a direct reply to Lamine Yamal.
With this victory, Real Madrid extended their lead to 5 points over Barcelona and continued their streak of four consecutive wins in La Liga.
