V.League 1-2025/2026: The Thể Công Viettel Club’s unbeaten streak comes to an end

On the opening day of round 8 (October 25), the dark horse Ninh Bình delighted fans again with a 3-1 away victory over PVF-Công an nhân dân Club, extending their unbeaten streak to 8 matches. The unstoppable form of coach Gerard Albadalejo Castaño’s team is helping them widen the gap with the chasing teams while creating an impressive record this season.

Visiting Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Club also secured a narrow 3-2 win. The 3 points earned help the capital team maintain 6th place on the standings with 11 points. Following recent positive signs, Hanoi Club can confidently compete strongly with the top contenders.

Three more matches of round 8 took place on October 26. Thể Công Viettel was highly favored when visiting the lower-ranked Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. In good form, the soldier team (currently holding second place) had not lost any of their 7 matches so far (4 wins, 3 draws).

Meanwhile, the home team had scored only 1 goal in 6 matches and were still winless. However, the hosts took the lead first with goals from Jairo (25th minute) and Ryan Hà (61st minute), while Thể Công Viettel managed only a late consolation goal at 90+11 minutes by Lucao. This loss cost Thể Công Viettel the chance to close the gap with the leaders Ninh Bình and raised the risk of being overtaken by teams like Công an Hà Nội and Công an Ho Chi Minh City.

Hải Phòng Club also continued their winning streak with an impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh at home. This win brought the port city team to 14 points, equal with the top 3 teams.

In the relegation battle, Đông Á Thanh Hóa secured their first precious away win by beating Sông Lam Nghệ An 1-0. This victory allowed the Thanh Hóa team to temporarily surpass their Nghệ An rivals in the standings.

The last two matches of round 8 took place this afternoon (October 27). Defending champions Thép Xanh Nam Định continued to disappoint by failing to secure all 3 points at home against bottom club SHB Đà Nẵng. The 1-1 draw only kept Nam Định in 8th place with 8 points after 8 rounds. This marked their fifth consecutive match without a win.

The latest match of round 8 between the two police-related clubs, Công an Hà Nội and Công an Ho Chi Minh City, ended with a 1-0 victory for the home team. This win helped Công an Hà Nội maintain their unbeaten streak since the start of the season. With 17 points, they are just one win behind league leaders Ninh Bình and have played one match fewer.

The matches of round 9 in V.League 1-2025/2026 will continue from October 31 to November 2.
