Coach Huỳnh Đức acknowledged the lack of thorough preparation in attack plans before facing CAHN and mentioned that his players remain too inexperienced.
Despite having a numerical advantage on the field, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club failed to surprise the home team CAHN and lost 0-1. Notably, the period when they had the manpower advantage was also when the visitors played below their potential and lacked clear direction.
Speaking after the match, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức said: "At the start of the game, my players performed well. We were also fortunate when CAHN lost a player early on. However, this caused my players to become impatient; they rushed forward seeking a goal while the defenders were still too inexperienced," he stated.
"My mistake was not preparing attacking tactics properly. I consider CAHN a strong team, and we adapted well and counterattacked effectively. But when the opponent set up a dense defense, we had limited options. I always aim to create diverse attacking plays. However, the players are still inexperienced and couldn’t execute them," Coach Huỳnh Đức assessed.
In this match, Coach Huỳnh Đức continued to give opportunities to overseas Vietnamese player Lee Williams. Regarding this decision, he shared: "At this point, all our players are injured. We made no changes, and bringing Lee Williams on was meant to put pressure on CAHN. I also want to give him a chance. Of course, he is still new, sometimes struggles with language barriers, and is not yet fully accustomed to the team."
Regarding the poor performance of the defense, especially the central defenders in the second half, the head coach of Ho Chi Minh City Police admitted: "The local central defenders handled situations too immaturely, while the foreign central defender lacked leadership, was not synchronized, and there was a lack of connection. The two central defenders did not observe each other well. If they communicated more, it wouldn’t have been as bad."
