After ending her playing career, Tuyết Dung is set to take on the role of Assistant Coach for the first team at Hà Nam women's club soon.
Midfielder Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Dung has officially retired from the pitch after 15 years dedicated to football, including 14 years representing the Vietnam national team. Born in 1993, she has decided to transition into coaching.
According to the latest information, Tuyết Dung will serve as Assistant Coach for the first team of Hà Nam women's football club in the upcoming period. This is her first position in her new career. Known as the "Corner Kick Queen" of Vietnamese women's football, she has thoroughly prepared for this decision. At the beginning of 2024, she completed the AFC/VFF C-level coaching certification held in Thanh Hóa.
Tuyết Dung started pursuing football at the age of 10 when she joined the women's football training center in Duy Tiên (formerly Hà Nam). She debuted for the Hà Nam women's club first team in 2010 and joined the Vietnam women's national team in 2011. Wearing the national team jersey, Tuyết Dung has played 131 matches, ranking first among female players with the most appearances in the team's history. With 53 goals, she is also the third highest scorer for the national team, behind Huỳnh Như (69) and Lưu Ngọc Mai (57).
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) recently sent their best wishes to Tuyết Dung as she embarks on a completely new journey: "Wishing Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Dung success in her new role."
Currently, the Vietnam women's national team is undergoing a generational transition as players like Huỳnh Như, Hải Yến, Chương Thị Kiều... have all surpassed 30 years of age. In this training camp, coach Mai Đức Chung has decided to give opportunities to young players such as Ngọc Minh Chuyên, Hải Linh, Minh Hiếu, and Nhật Lan. This move is considered necessary for the long-term development goals of Vietnamese women's football.
