The U22 Vietnam team may have to change their playing venue at SEA Games 33.

The reason given is the suitability of the location and the audience size, especially in southern Thailand, where a large number of Malaysian fans can easily travel to support their national team.

Meanwhile, Group C, consisting of Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Singapore, will continue to play at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiang Mai.

The official decision regarding the arrangement of groups for the men's football event at SEA Games 33 will be announced soon.

The men's football competition at SEA Games 33 will be held from December 3 to 18, featuring 10 regional teams divided into 3 groups, playing round-robin matches to select 3 group winners and the best runner-up to advance to the semifinals. Indonesia is the current champion after defeating Thailand in the last edition's final.

In November, the U22 Vietnam team will have two consecutive training camps. The fourth camp of 2025 (from November 10 to 19, 2025) will see the team participate in the Panda Cup 2025 international friendly tournament in China, featuring strong teams such as U22 China, U22 Uzbekistan, and U22 South Korea. Around 26 players are expected to be called up for this camp.

Immediately after finishing the competition in China, the U22 Vietnam team will enter the fifth training phase of 2025 from November 23 to December 19, 2025. This is considered the final rehearsal before SEA Games 33. The team will train in Vung Tau from November 23 to 29, then move to Ho Chi Minh City and depart for Thailand on December 2 to participate in the Games.
