Al Nassr’s coach praises Ronaldo highly after a crucial victory

After the exciting 2-1 triumph against Al Fayha, Al Nassr’s head coach Jorge Jesus gave a heartfelt press briefing, during which he expressed great admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo — who netted two crucial goals that ensured the team’s full points.

The Portuguese manager affirmed that Al Nassr is on the right track and emphasized that the team’s style — aggressive attacking with a willingness to take risks — is what drives them toward victory.

“Clubs that play with a high defensive line, even the biggest teams worldwide, must accept risks. But which team concedes the fewest goals in the league? Al Nassr. That’s the difference. Coaching teams like Al Hilal, Barcelona, or Real Madrid always requires taking risks, and I am not afraid of that.”

Jorge Jesus also expressed immense pride in his player Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar continued to demonstrate his class at 40 years old by scoring both goals, including a penalty in the 90+14th minute that helped Al Nassr make a spectacular comeback.

The Portuguese coach admitted that Al Nassr is willing to take risks in pursuit of victory

“Ronaldo is an exceptional player who knows his body well. He understands when to rest and when to give his all. I once considered resting him for some AFC matches, but in certain games, you simply cannot bench Ronaldo. Camara cannot replace him. Sometimes we accept that he plays without being at his peak fitness because his presence means more than an ordinary player.”

The 70-year-old coach acknowledged that Al Nassr is an attack-minded team, and that identity is what he wants to preserve. “My team always moves forward, constantly looking to score. That’s why the teams I’ve coached have always won. Of course, pushing forward can bring risks, but my goal is to score more goals than the opponent, not to keep a clean sheet every match.”

Jorge Jesus also commented on the team’s lineup and some controversial decisions during the match. “The penalty was correct, no doubt about it. As for Coman’s goal being disallowed for an offside by… the ear, it’s shameful that modern football has such moments. We also lost Saad Al Nasser and Ayman Yahya due to injuries, so we had to find solutions on the left flank.”

With this win, Al Nassr remains at the top of the Saudi Pro League and extends their winning streak to seven matches. However, the highlight after the game was Jorge Jesus’s special praise for Ronaldo — whom he called “the heart and soul of the team.”
