Cristiano Ronaldo has conveyed a strong and resolute message to his Al Nassr teammates regarding the club’s primary objective this season after the win against Al Fayha.
Cristiano Ronaldo shined with a brace to help Al Nassr defeat Al Fayha in the Saudi Pro League, thereby maintaining their position at the top of the league table. After this crucial victory, the Portuguese captain sent a determined message to his teammates about the team’s biggest ambition for the current season.
After being named Man of the Match, Ronaldo quickly shifted focus to the team, emphasizing that the collective victory matters more than individual accolades, while also expressing his desire to end the trophy drought with Al Nassr.
“Scoring always feels amazing. I’m happy to help the team win, but the most important thing is that the whole team triumphed. Individual awards are not my priority. My goal is to win the league,” Ronaldo said after the match.
Since moving to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been on a quest to secure his first official title with Al Nassr. The Portuguese superstar has lost all three finals he has played in, including the defeat to Al Hilal in the 2023/24 King’s Cup final and two consecutive losses in the Arab Super Cup against Al Hilal and Al Ahli.
The only trophy Ronaldo has won with Al Nassr is the Arab Club Champions Cup, where he scored twice to help the team beat Al Hilal 2-1. However, this tournament is not officially recognized by AFC or FIFA as an official title, but rather considered a friendly competition.
Currently, Ronaldo remains Al Nassr’s main striker with 107 goals in 114 matches. He is in excellent form this season, having scored seven goals in just five recent Saudi Pro League games.
His latest brace raised his tally to nine goals in 10 matches this season, and brought his career total to 952 goals. This achievement brings him closer to the historic milestone of 1,000 goals, a number no player in football history has reached.
