Văn Toàn 'flirts' with Xuân Son

Forward Nguyễn Văn Toàn shared a warm picture alongside his teammate Nguyễn Xuân Son.

Recently, on his Fanpage, forward Nguyễn Văn Toàn made a gesture full of affection yet also very humorous with his teammate Nguyễn Xuân Son.

Accordingly, Văn Toàn uploaded a training photo with Xuân Son at the gym, accompanied by the caption "Titanic …..". What excited the fans was Xuân Son embracing his senior teammate intimately, seemingly recreating the iconic scene from the movie Titanic between the characters Jack and Rose.

This action shows the strong bond between the attacking duo of Thép Xanh Nam Định, especially as both are currently recovering from injuries.

For Xuân Son, the 1997-born striker has yet to return to the field since sustaining an injury in the second leg final of the 2024 AFF Cup in Thailand. However, the Brazil-born star is likely to make a comeback soon as he has resumed training with teammates and is included in the squad list of the Nam Định club.

Previously, Xuân Son was expected to return in early 2026, but his rapid recovery has helped the 28-year-old regain fitness quickly. He might even be called up by coach Kim Sang Sik to the national team for the November training camp, when Vietnam’s team will travel to Laos for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

As for Văn Toàn, after undergoing knee meniscus surgery in August,the Hải Dương-born (now Hải Phòng) player is expected to come back during the second half of the 2025/26 V-League season.

The last time Văn Toàn played was in May, when the 1996-born forward scored in Nam Định’s 6-1 victory over HAGL.

With both Xuân Son and Văn Toàn in recovery, coach Nguyễn Trung Kiên will have some relief, especially as the reigning V-League champions face challenges across all competitions.
