Manchester United academy midfielder Kobe Meno has requested to leave the club during the January transfer window and has become a hot target for teams in Serie A and the Premier League. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Meno is eager to exit Old Trafford in January, and if forced to stay, he will push to leave next summer as well.

The 20-year-old Meno was once seen as a future star for Manchester United, but since Ruben Amroli took charge, he has struggled to secure regular playing time, leaving the England international very frustrated. So far this season, Meno has not started in any Premier League match, and it seems unlikely this will change in Saturday’s game against Tottenham.
Before the Manchester United vs. Tottenham match, Amroli clearly stated: "I saw Kobe Meno training today, and he definitely deserves a chance to play... but if I do that, I would have to bench another player who has been performing excellently."
Although the United manager spoke indirectly, it is obvious he believes Meno’s performances are not on par with his teammates. Moreover, this situation has persisted for nearly a year. As a result, Meno is worried this will severely impact his chances of representing England at the World Cup next year.
This summer, Meno requested to leave Manchester United on loan, but Amroli blocked the move because the club had not signed a new midfielder.
Now, Meno plans to request another loan in January, with many clubs showing interest in signing him and promising him a starting position.
TEAMtalk’s transfer insider Fraser Fletcher revealed that on November 3, Napoli held detailed talks with Meno’s agent regarding a possible loan deal. Premier League side West Ham United has also entered the competition.

Romano stated: "Meno wanted to go out on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, but both Manchester United and Amroli rejected that request. Since then, Meno still hasn’t secured regular playing time, so he might be loaned out in January for about six months before returning to United in the summer."
If Manchester United signs a new midfielder in the winter window, Meno’s departure will be certain; if not, he may be forced to stay. Romano added: "The final decision depends on United’s plans, whether they bring in another midfielder, and if Amroli wants to maintain the current squad."
Regarding Meno’s potential destination, Romano said: "West Ham has expressed interest and can guarantee him regular playing time; Napoli is also looking to strengthen their midfield due to De Bruyne’s injury."
Fletcher added: "If Meno leaves, it will open up a spot for a new player to join the team. Amroli won’t lose a player without bringing in a replacement."
A source told TEAMtalk that Manchester United could block Meno’s loan again, but doing so might upset the academy talent and cause a complete breakdown in their relationship, similar to what happened with Garnacho.
Therefore, the club is considering letting him leave temporarily to get playing time and participate in the World Cup. If the Red Devils qualify for European competition next year, there will be more rotation opportunities, giving Meno a chance to return as part of the squad.

It is believed that if the loan is approved, Napoli is likely Meno’s preferred choice. However, playing as a starter at West Ham is more probable, and it would allow him to continue competing in the Premier League.
