Manchester United is scouting a €35 million La Liga striker! English media advises Amorin to sign Tony and stop relying on luck.

Following Sheshko's knee injury, English sources claim Manchester United could look to reinforce their attack in the January transfer period. This decision may hinge on Sheshko’s recovery and Zirkzee’s future with the team. Nevertheless, Karl Etta Eyong has been identified as a potential target for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old Eyong plays for Levante in La Liga, having scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 14 matches this season. He ranks sixth on the top scorers list with 5 goals in 9 league games, attracting interest from several top clubs including Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal. His price tag won’t be too high since his contract includes a €35 million release clause for non-Spanish clubs, allowing a direct signing.

The forward has openly admitted being a fan of Chelsea and Drogba: "As a kid, Chelsea was the Premier League team I watched most because of Drogba, and Eto'o also played there for a year. Chelsea often signs incredible African players. England has many top clubs, but if I had the chance to join Chelsea, why not? Playing for Chelsea is a dream for me."

Of course, if Manchester United signs Eyong, two questions arise. First, after Hojlund and Sheshko, will the club risk bringing in another young striker who hasn’t yet proven himself in the Premier League? Second, Eyong is also an African player who will miss some matches at the end of this year and early next year due to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Regarding the Africa Cup, Eyong stated clearly: "If I can score for Cameroon and help us lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy, I would be very happy. Thinking back to my first call-up, it still feels unreal. When I first wore the national team jersey, my heart rate soared to 150 beats per minute! I hope the matches start soon so I can calm down. Representing my country fills me with pride, and I hope to win many trophies with my teammates."

The Manchester Evening News recommends Manchester United consider a striker with extensive Premier League experience, such as England international Ivan Toney. The 29-year-old joined Saudi Professional League side Al-Ittihad in 2024 but has repeatedly been linked with the Red Devils, making now possibly the best time for his return.

Toney has played 59 games in Saudi Arabia, scoring 41 goals and providing 8 assists, maintaining strong form. This season, he has netted 11 goals in 15 matches. Recent rumors suggest Tottenham is interested in bringing him back to the Premier League. Additionally, Toney once played alongside Manchester United’s current top scorer Mbemo at Brentford; they assisted each other 16 times, helping the "Bees" get promoted to the Premier League and become a formidable team.

Toney’s market value is around £40 million, and he has two and a half years left on his contract with Al-Ittihad. He will turn 30 in March next year, so Sir Jim Ratcliffe might consider him too old and the price somewhat high.

In recent years, Manchester United has frequently strengthened their forward line mid-season through loans, but the performances of Ighalo and Weghorst were disappointing. Last season, United stated they did not sign a striker in the winter window because they were not interested in short-term fixes.

Manchester United’s management always wants a perfect striker—someone reasonably priced, experienced, and preferably in their early twenties. Unfortunately, such a player does not exist, and even if they did, the Red Devils might not be able to secure him.
