The 30-year-old was at his Berkshire luxury home with his partner Paige Milian and their children around 17:30 GMT on Saturday when intruders entered.
The burglars were interrupted, with Sterling allegedly confronting them, causing them to flee before taking anything.
"We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home intrusion this past weekend," Sterling's spokesperson stated on Wednesday.
"We also confirm that he and his children were at home during the incident.
"Although it was a severe breach of privacy and security, we are grateful to report that he and his family are safe.
"We kindly ask for privacy for Raheem and his family during this difficult period."
Sterling's former residence in Surrey was also targeted by burglars in December 2022, prompting the ex- Manchester City star to return home early from the World Cup in Qatar.
During the tournament, Sterling missed England's 3-0 victory over Senegal after returning home following the break-in.
Jewelry and watches valued at approximately £300,000 were taken.
Earlier, when Sterling lived in Cheshire, his home was targeted by thieves in 2018, who fled after the alarm was triggered.
Sterling has not yet appeared for Chelsea this season after being excluded by manager Enzo Maresca.
He spent last season on a disappointing loan at Arsenal and has been training separately from Chelsea's first team this season after failing to arrange a transfer from Stamford Bridge.
