Công Phượng is set to play again for Trường Tươi Đồng Nai following the national team gathering.
Forward Nguyễn Công Phượng is making every effort to return to play for Trường Tươi Đồng Nai immediately after the Vietnam national team’s FIFA Days camp for the match against Laos. Currently, Công Phượng shows positive signs as he has resumed training with the entire squad and may be ready to play in the upcoming National Cup match.
Công Phượng was expected to continue shining in this year’s National First Division to help Trường Tươi Đồng Nai get promoted to the V-League after missing out twice. However, continuous injuries since the start of the season have prevented the Nghệ An native from participating in the last 7 matches.
This is a significant loss for the team because Công Phượng is not only the main attacking threat but also considered the soul of Đồng Nai’s offensive play. His absence has been one of the reasons why the team’s attack has not been as explosive as expected. The last official match Công Phượng played for Đồng Nai was in June, during last season’s promotion play-off.
Previously, there were reports that Trường Tươi Đồng Nai club arranged for Công Phượng to undergo a detailed medical examination in Singapore to thoroughly assess his injury. This move aims to set a clear target for the former Vietnam national team forward’s comeback within November.
It is known that Công Phượng has resumed regular training to prepare for the match against Hà Tĩnh in the 2025/2026 National Cup, scheduled for 6:00 PM on November 22. His full training with the team strongly indicates that the forward will likely be back on the field by the end of November.
After one year back playing in Vietnam, fans are eager to see Công Phượng wear his familiar number 10 jersey again. Previously, in the 2024/2025 season, the former HAGL star wore number 70 when he first played for Trường Tươi Đồng Nai. That number brought some success as Công Phượng scored 7 goals in the First Division.
