Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia is set to leave in the January winter transfer window, with boss Ruben Amorim approving the deal and the 25-year-old former Netherlands international available on loan. But whether he can find a home will require the club and his agent to continue to work hard, and the situation is similar to that of his good friend Marcus Rashford.

Malacia joined Manchester United from Eredivisie Feyenoord in 2022 for £13 million, his first signing under former manager Erik ten Hag. The player started his first season well and at one point beat Luke Shaw as the starter. However, he soon spent a long time in the infirmary with his England rivals.
Malacia underwent two surgeries due to a serious knee injury and was out for 18 months, including the entire season. He finally recovered from injury in November last year and has made five appearances since then, but has been mediocre for the most part, often being substituted at half-time.
According to Dutch media outlet Voetbal International, Manchester United and Amorim told Malacia on Friday that he could seek his next home, and that he is expected to leave on loan in the second half of the season.
Amorim has clearly decided he is not good enough to play for his Manchester United and would rather play at left-back with Diogu Darlow and Mazraoui at left-back than Malacia. The 39-year-old Portuguese coach also revealed that 29-year-old Luke Shaw is expected to return from injury this month. Several European clubs have been rumoured to have enquired about a loan move for Malacia, but it is unclear if he can actually leave the club and which team he will join.
Dutch journalist Joost Brouwerf declared: "Malacia is leaving Manchester United and sources close to the player have confirmed this. The left-back is close to agreeing a deal with a new club and will be on loan at a top European club. Amorim has approved the lease."

Manchester United have been tipped to bring in a new left-back this year, with a number of well-known European left-wingers on the shortlist. However, the once-rumoured Paris Saint-Germain player Nuno Mendes is no longer a possibility. Previously, the 22-year-old Portugal international was hindered from renewing his contract with Paris, so the Red Devils became a tool for him to raise prices and force the palace. Because the £34 million player who joined Paris, he came through the Sporting of Portugal academy and has worked with Amorim in the past.
At the end of last year, Mendes, whose contract runs until 2026, rejected a new contract offer from Grand Paris and successfully achieved his goal through rumours of an eye-to-eye relationship with Manchester United. According to the French newspaper Le Teams, now that Mendes has received the treatment he wants, he will sign a new contract. The report explains that Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique was instrumental in convincing Mendes to stay, with Enrique committing the full-back to be key in his plans.
Manchester United are also believed to be interested in Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, whose contract expires this summer. However, like Mendes, the 23-year-old talented Canadian left-back looks ready to turn down a move to Old Trafford in favour of a contract extension with his current club Bayern Munich.
Manchester United have other options, such as a €6 million sale to 21-year-old Spanish left-back Álvaro Fernandez Carares of the Portuguese Premier League for Benfica, with the club having a €20 million buy-back clause. In addition, Bournemouth's Milos Kolkez in the Premier League, Wolves' Rajan Al-Nuri and Fulham's Anthony Robinson, but these players are all expensive, priced at around £40 million.
Colquez opened the scoring for Bournemouth at the weekend to a 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle United, who have been on a hot run of late. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed: "Kolkez scored for Bournemouth, he has continued to perform at the top level this season, and both Manchester United and Liverpool are closely monitoring his developments.

Robinson is third in the Premier League's assists charts, with nine assists behind Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka. Noori, on the other hand, is second in the scoring charts for defenders with three goals, just one less than Manchester City's Joshua Gvardiol. Manchester United's rumoured candidates, as well as Serie A Lecce Denmark international Dolgu, who Amorim will get in the end may not be revealed until the summer transfer window.
