Indonesian media comment on Vietnam U19 Futsal before the semifinal match

The U19 Indonesia Futsal team and Vietnam U19 Futsal will meet in the semifinals of the Southeast Asia U19 Futsal Championship, with all actions of Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Anh’s team being carefully watched.

According to CNN Indonesia, Vietnam (second in Group A) is confident and well-prepared ahead of the semifinal match against Indonesia (top of Group B) within the framework of the 2025 Southeast Asia U19 Futsal Championship.

“Before the match against Indonesia, U19 Vietnam’s coach Nguyễn Tuấn Anh confirmed that the coaching staff has thoroughly prepared, developed specific plans, and conducted comprehensive analysis of the opponent,” commented CNN Indonesia.

Nevertheless, CNN Indonesia remains confident about their team’s strength: “U19 Indonesia finished the group stage with a perfect 6 points, having defeated both U19 Malaysia and U19 Myanmar to complete the group stage with an unbeaten record”.

In the last group match, U19 Vietnam suffered a comeback loss to host U19 Thailand with a score of 1-2 despite initially taking the lead. With this result, U19 Thailand topped Group A with 6 points from 2 matches, while U19 Vietnam ranked second with 3 points after two games.

In the other group, U19 Indonesia defeated U19 Malaysia 1-0 in the second match, securing first place in Group B with a perfect 6 points. Although Malaysia only earned 1 point from 2 matches, they still advanced as the second place in Group B.

Speaking to the media before the semifinal, Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Anh said that U19 Vietnam has prepared thoroughly and is ready for the upcoming semifinal:

“The coaching staff proactively prepared for all scenarios from the beginning. We carefully monitored and analyzed our opponents, both before knowing whether we would face Indonesia or Malaysia in the semifinals”, said Mr. Tuấn Anh.“I trust in the team’s progress and their performance in recent matches, especially ahead of the clash with Indonesia”.

The semifinal between Indonesia and Vietnam will take place at Nonthaburi Gymnasium (Thailand) at 16:00 on December 27. Meanwhile, the other semifinal between U19 Thailand and U19 Myanmar will be held at 19:00 the same day. The two winners will advance to the final.
