VFF continues to impose mass disciplinary actions on players in the National U19 Championship

This is considered a firm action aimed at safeguarding the purity, fairness, and professional standards of the tournaments held by VFF.

According to the decision of the VFF Disciplinary Committee, five players from the U19 Dao Ha Football Center, including Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Xuan Quyen, Mac Quoc Tinh, Le Van Tam, and Le Minh Khoi, were found to have played below their professional capabilities. These behaviors were assessed to seriously affect the integrity of the matches, damaging the reputation of the National U19 Championship as well as the organization of youth football tournaments.

Based on VFF’s current regulations related to actions that distort the professional nature of the game, each of these players must pay a fine of 2.5 million VND. Additionally, a suspension of 5 consecutive matches in VFF-managed tournaments has been imposed. This disciplinary measure is considered sufficiently deterrent and demonstrates strictness in handling negative violations.

The VFF Disciplinary Committee emphasizes that the uncompromising handling of cases involving players performing below their ability is not only to correct individual awareness but also to protect a healthy competitive environment for Vietnamese youth football. Youth tournaments, including the National U19 Championship, are seen as a crucial foundation in the strategy to train and develop the next generation of football talent. Therefore, any behavior opposing the spirit of fair play must be detected and dealt with promptly.

In recent years, VFF has continuously implemented stricter discipline measures in youth competitions, from professional supervision to penalty enforcement. This demonstrates the Vietnamese football authority’s determination to build transparent, fair, and genuinely competitive domestic leagues. For young players, this also serves as a clear warning that talent must be accompanied by professional ethics and honest competition spirit.

The disciplinary action against the five U19 Dao Ha Football Center players is considered a lesson not only for those involved but also for all youth teams participating in VFF-organized tournaments. As Vietnamese football moves towards sustainable grassroots development, such firm actions are expected to help clean up the football environment, especially at the youth training level.

Not only this case, but Vietnamese youth football recently recorded at least 13 players disciplined for negative behaviors during matches. This highlights that strengthening supervision and ethical education for young players remains a long-term and urgent task.
