Hanoi FC has just announced the signing of English forward David Fisher for the upcoming phase of the V-League.
The V-League transfer market is gradually heating up again. Most recently, Hanoi FC revealed their new signing, English striker David Fisher. He is expected to bring energetic attacking options to the team in the forthcoming period. Notably, Fisher is the first English player to join the capital’s club.
Born in 2001, David Fisher holds dual citizenship from England and the Czech Republic. He developed through AFC Wimbledon’s academy and has competed in various leagues within the English football system. In 2023, the 25-year-old forward moved to play for Glentoran (Northern Ireland), where he gained regular playing time and valuable experience. Currently, Fisher’s market value on Transfermarkt is estimated at 125,000 euros, a relatively modest figure.
Statistics show that David Fisher has appeared in 147 matches and scored 33 goals throughout his career. Known for his ability to finish with both feet, positional awareness, and versatility in playing positions, the new English recruit is expected to quickly adapt and make a significant impact wearing the capital team’s jersey.
After completing the contract with Hanoi FC, Fisher enthusiastically stated: "This is my first time playing outside the United Kingdom, but I believe I will integrate well thanks to the support from the coaching staff and teammates. I will work hard to adapt quickly, give my best in every training session, and score goals for the team."
It is known that assistant coach Warren Feeney recommended Hanoi FC to sign this striker because Fisher was once his player when he coached in Northern Ireland. David Fisher will wear the number 77 jersey for the capital club.
Conversely, during the mid-season transfer window, the capital club said farewell to midfielder Willian Maranhão.
