Insider: Manchester City agrees £64 million plus 10% sell-on clause for Semenyo, with payment spread over two years.

Manchester City, having drawn three games in a row, has slipped off the pace in this season’s Premier League title challenge. Even with games in hand, the Blues are five points behind Arsenal, making it tough to catch up. Still, City is opting to reinforce their lineup by bringing in a new “Doku” to form a dual-wing threat alongside the current Doku.

According to top reporter Ornstein, the 26-year-old Ghanaian winger Semenyo, who celebrated his birthday on January 7 and scored the winning goal for Bournemouth in stoppage time against Tottenham in a 3-2 victory, underwent a medical at Manchester City on January 8. This signing did not trigger Semenyo’s release clause with Bournemouth, and the two clubs agreed on installment payments for the transfer fee.

Ornstein reports that Semenyo’s fixed transfer fee from Bournemouth to Manchester City is €62.5 million, plus €1.5 million in add-ons, and includes a clause granting Bournemouth 10% of any future transfer profit. Manchester City will pay the fee in installments over 24 months and has agreed to a five-and-a-half-year contract with Semenyo lasting until June 2031.

Semenyo stands 1.85 meters tall and is proficient with both feet. Primarily a right winger, he can also play on the left wing. Valued at €65 million by Transfermarkt, he has started all 20 Premier League appearances this season, contributing 10 goals and 3 assists.
