According to the latest update from Italian transfer expert Romano, Lazio is set to finalize the signing of 23-year-old Dutch midfielder Taylor from Ajax, replacing Gondozi who is heading to Fenerbahçe. Lazio and Ajax have agreed on a transfer fee consisting of a fixed €15 million plus an additional €2 million in variables. Taylor will arrive in Rome on the evening of January 8th, undergo a medical on January 9th (this Friday), and if all goes well, sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with Lazio, lasting until June 2030.

Taylor is 23 years old, stands 1.82 meters tall, and is a left-footed midfielder capable of playing both attacking and defensive midfield roles. His Transfermarkt valuation is €23 million. A product of Ajax’s youth academy, Taylor was promoted to the first team in the 2020-21 season and has since played 184 matches for Ajax, scoring 36 goals and providing 27 assists.

This season, Taylor has appeared in 15 Eredivisie matches for Ajax, starting 14 of them, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists; he has also started 4 Champions League games but has not yet been involved in any goals there.
