Hanoi FC continues to make notable adjustments on the coaching bench by adding an experienced assistant from Europe.
On the Hanoi Football Club fanpage, the capital team announced that their coaching staff has been strengthened with the arrival of assistant coach Brian Stock
According to Transfermarkt data, Brian Stock is a former central midfielder from Wales, born on December 24, 1981, in Winchester, England. During his professional playing career, he represented several English clubs, but Doncaster was the team he was most associated with and appeared in the most matches. His final stop as a player was Havant & Waterlooville before officially retiring on January 6, 2019.
During his playing days, Brian Stock was known as a disciplined central midfielder with stable ball distribution skills and strong physical fitness. Besides his main position, he could also play as a defensive midfielder when needed. Stock is right-footed, stands 1.80 meters tall, fitting the physical style of English football. At the national team level, he earned 3 caps for Wales. At his peak, his transfer value reached 1 million euros in July 2009.
After retiring, Brian Stock quickly moved into coaching. He served as an assistant coach at Eastleigh FC, gaining experience in a professional football environment. Hanoi FC’s decision to include Brian Stock in their coaching staff demonstrates the club’s clear intention to improve technical quality and adopt modern European coaching methods.
Notably, the appointment of Brian Stock comes as Hanoi FC is emphasizing a “British” influence within their squad and coaching staff. Previously, on January 8, the capital club officially completed the signing of English striker David Fisher, marking the first time Hanoi FC has had a player holding British nationality in the club’s history.
David Fisher, born in 2001, holds dual citizenship of England and the Czech Republic, developed through AFC Wimbledon’s academy, and has played in various English football competitions. In 2023, he transferred to Glentoran (Northern Ireland), where he gained regular playing time to build experience. To date, Fisher has played 147 matches and scored 33 goals in his career.
