According to the latest update from TA, 26-year-old Dutch forward Malen from Aston Villa will join Roma on loan this winter, including a mandatory buy clause for this summer. Roma has secured a personal deal with Malen; the loan fee is €2 million, and the buyout fee next summer is €25 million. Malen received Aston Villa’s approval to travel to Rome for a medical and to finalize the transfer, having arrived in Rome this Wednesday. The deal is close to completion.

Malen joined Aston Villa from Dortmund in January 2025 for a transfer fee of €25 million. This deal represents a break-even sale. Although Malen’s form at Villa was improving, the player wanted to move to Roma, and Villa agreed to let him go to recover their costs.

Malen is currently 26 years old, stands 1.76 meters tall, is right-footed, and can play multiple attacking positions. Transfermarkt values him at €25 million. So far this season, Malen has appeared 29 times for Aston Villa across all competitions, starting 11 times, totaling 1106 minutes with 7 goals and 2 assists; in the Premier League, he has played 21 matches (only 5 starts), totaling 644 minutes with 4 goals and 1 assist.
