On the afternoon of January 15, the initial fixtures in Group C of the National U19 Championship took place, resulting in a remarkable 6-2 triumph for HAGL.
U19 HAGL left a strong impression in the opening match of Group C at the National U19 Football Championship Finals National U19 Championship – Modern Cup 2025/26 by achieving a decisive victory over U19 Đồng Tháp.
The highlight match in Group C unfolded with surprises. U19 Đồng Tháp scored first at the 12th minute thanks to Đoàn Quốc Huy. However, this early lead did not help the Western region team maintain control against the increasing pressure from U19 HAGL.
At the 27th minute, Trần Đắc Lộc equalized for the Mountain Town team at 1-1. Just over 10 minutes later, Võ Trần Minh Vũ scored, giving U19 HAGL a 2-1 lead, ending the first half with the advantage favoring coach Bùi Xuân Hiếu’s squad.
In the second half, U19 HAGL continued to dominate the game. Trần Đắc Lộc completed his brace, extending the lead to 3-1. As U19 Đồng Tháp was forced to push forward, their defense exposed several gaps and paid the price. Trần Gia Bảo – a young player currently playing in HAGL’s first team – shone with a double, increasing the gap to 5-1.
At the 83rd minute, Dương Ngọc Hiếu scored to reduce the deficit for U19 Đồng Tháp, but in the third minute of added time, Vũ Phong unfortunately scored an own goal. Ultimately, U19 HAGL secured a convincing 6-2 victory on their debut.
In the other Group C match, U19 SHB Đà Nẵng failed to surprise U19 Sông Lam Nghệ An – one of the top contenders for the title. After a goalless first half, the Nghệ An team exploded in the second half. Hồ Hữu Nhật Sang opened the scoring at the 56th minute, followed by goals from Minh Hợi and Quốc Thông, sealing a 3-0 win for U19 Sông Lam Nghệ An.
