In the latest friendly game, Hà Nội FC achieved a 4-2 win against Nara Club from Japan.
At the beginning of 2026, Hà Nội FC chose Thailand as their training destination during the V-League break before the league resumes at the end of January. This training camp was considered a valuable opportunity for Văn Quyết and his teammates to improve their professional skills. Notably, instead of playing friendlies against Thai teams, Hà Nội FC proactively sought opponents from Japan and South Korea for tougher challenges.
According to the schedule, Hà Nội FC played a friendly match against Nara Club — a team competing in J-League 3 — on January 14. For this match, Hà Nội FC fielded many key players such as Văn Quyết, Hùng Dũng, Tuấn Hải, Xuân Mạnh, and Duy Mạnh. The Vietnamese side started actively and created numerous clear chances. As a result, under coach Harry Kewell, they secured a 4-2 victory thanks to goals from Hùng Dũng, Anh Tuấn, Tuấn Hải, and Xuân Tú. The following day, the capital club continued testing themselves against Seoul E-Land, a club currently playing in K-League 2.
These two opponents were considered suitable “tests” for Hà Nội FC during the squad development process. The 10-day training trip combined with competitive matches not only helped the team maintain match rhythm but also allowed the coaching staff to assess player form and introduce new faces from England.
To prepare for the return of the season V-League 2025/26, Hà Nội FC recently signed assistant coach Brian Stock. He previously played for clubs such as AFC Bournemouth, Doncaster Rovers, and Burnley FC, and earned three caps representing the Wales national team.
