Brooklyn Beckham has stirred controversy by openly accusing David and Victoria Beckham of controlling his life, manipulating the media, undermining his marriage, and making him suffer from long-term anxiety.
Brooklyn Beckham stunned the global audience by posting a lengthy letter on Instagram, openly addressing deep conflicts within his family. The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham declared that he will no longer stay silent, is not seeking reconciliation, and is standing up for himself after enduring years of mental pressure.
Brooklyn revealed that his life only began to find peace after distancing himself from his family and fully committing to his wife, actress Nicola Peltz. “For the first time in my life, I feel relieved and at peace without living under that control”, he wrote.
According to Brooklyn, the long-lasting anxiety he endured vanished completely once he chose his own path.
In the letter, Brooklyn did not shy away from accusing his parents of putting their image and brand above everything else. “For them, the Beckham brand always comes first”, he asserted, also suggesting that family relationships, events, and social media posts were merely for show. “Family love is determined by how much you post”, Brooklyn wrote bitterly.
Brooklyn stated that the conflict began at his wedding with Nicola in April 2022. He accused his parents of repeatedly trying to sabotage his marriage. “They constantly tried to interfere and hurt our relationship”, Brooklyn wrote.
He revealed that his mother canceled Nicola’s wedding dress design at the last minute and stole the spotlight during their first dance in front of about 500 guests. “I have never felt more embarrassed and uncomfortable in my entire life”, he admitted.
Brooklyn also shared shocking details about his family’s attitude towards Nicola. “The night before the wedding, someone told me that Nicola was not blood and not family”. He insisted that his wife was continuously disrespected despite their efforts to bond.
Because of this, the couple decided to hold a private wedding ceremony next year without the Beckham family attending. “We want happy memories, not anxiety and shame”.
Brooklyn entirely dismissed rumors that Nicola controls him. “The story that my wife controls me is fabricated. I have been controlled by my parents almost my whole life”. He also accused being pressured to sign away the right to use the Beckham surname before the wedding. “That could directly affect me, my wife, and our future children”.
Explaining his absence at his father’s 50th birthday, Brooklyn said that although he flew to London, he and his wife were ignored for a whole week. “We were refused meetings unless it was a big party with hundreds of guests and cameras everywhere”. When David agreed to meet privately, the condition was that Nicola could not attend. “That was a slap in the face”.

At the conclusion of the letter, Brooklyn made his strongest statement. “I do not want reconciliation. I am standing up for myself for the first time in my life”. He emphasized that he and his wife only desire a private life, free from image pressures, media, or manipulation. “I wake up every morning feeling grateful, peaceful, and relieved”.
