A narrow victory over Hanoi secured Ho Chi Minh City the first leg title of the National U19 Women's Football Championship – Acecook Cup 2025/26.
The highlight of the final matchday in the first leg was the clash between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Unexpectedly, Ho Chi Minh City scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute from a successful penalty kick by Nguyễn Thị Thùy Linh.
The team representing the city named after Uncle Ho played fiercely and were willing to commit fouls to protect their lead. The first half ended with a slim advantage for coach Lưu Ngọc Mai’s squad. However, Hanoi was not in good form during the first leg. They lacked sharpness to score and had to accept a narrow 0-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Thái Nguyên T&T had an easy win over Than Khoáng Sản Việt Nam (Than KSVN). In the 3rd minute, assisted by Nguyễn Ngô Thảo Nguyên’s pass, Nguyễn Thu Trang easily tapped the ball into an empty net to open the scoring for Thái Nguyên T&T.
By the 32nd minute, following a chaotic situation in the penalty area, Đỗ Thị Thúy Nga finished close range to make it 2-0. At this point, Than KSVN lost morale and gradually fell apart. Two minutes later, a poor save by the opposing goalkeeper allowed Trần Thị Hương to extend the lead to 3-0. In the 37th minute, Ngô Hải Yến skillfully dribbled past two Than KSVN defenders before finishing accurately to widen the gap to 4 goals. The first half ended with a significant advantage for the team from the tea land.
In the second half, Than KSVN scored to reduce the deficit to 1-4 through Phạm Thu Trang. In the 68th minute, Nguyễn Thu Trang scored to seal a 5-1 victory for Thái Nguyên T&T.
With this result, Ho Chi Minh City leads the standings and wins the first leg with 8 points and a +7 goal difference. Thái Nguyên T&T ranks second with 8 points and a +5 goal difference, while Phong Phú Hà Nam is third with 8 points and a +2 goal difference.
