The post from the Nghệ An forward quickly attracted significant attention from fans and football lovers in Vietnam, gaining over 16,000 likes and nearly 500 comments.

Công Phượng is considered one of the most exceptional players in Vietnamese football. Rising to fame after scoring against Australia’s U19 team in the 2014 Southeast Asian U19 Championship, he has always been recognized as one of Vietnam’s brightest football talents.

During his professional career, besides playing for HAGL and several other V-League clubs, the 1995-born forward has had four overseas stints with Mito HollyHock (Japan, 2016), Incheon United (South Korea, 2019), Sint-Truiden (Belgium, 2019), and Yokohama FC (Japan, 2023).

Regarding his international career, Công Phượng is regarded as one of the key figures for various Vietnamese national teams under coach Park Hang Seo, participating in many achievements such as the runner-up finish at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, winning the 2018 AFF Cup, and reaching the quarterfinals of the 2019 Asian Cup.

After his most recent overseas stint in 2023, Công Phượng returned to Vietnam and joined the Trường Tươi Đồng Nai club. In his first season, he performed impressively, helping the team secure second place with 7 goals contributed. However, this season, injuries have prevented the 1995-born forward from participating in any matches. Due to injury, Công Phượng also missed the chance to return to the Vietnamese national team in June 2025.
