The U16 PVF squad made a big surprise by securing a draw with their U16 PSG rivals in the recent friendly game.
U16 PVF just created a remarkable upset by holding U16 Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 scoreline in the late evening match on January 22nd.
Coach Nguyễn Xuân Thành’s players started confidently and quickly gained the advantage. In the very first minute, Phạm Tuấn Kiệt skillfully used a smart movement inside the penalty area to execute a sharp back header, putting U16 PVF ahead.
After conceding early, U16 PSG promptly pushed forward and increased the pressure. The young French team demonstrated superiority in physique, stamina, and the technical skills of several African-origin players. Nevertheless, U16 PVF maintained focus, organized tight defense, and played with great determination. PSG’s equalizer came from an own goal, ending the match at 1-1.
The match took place within the framework of the Alkass International Cup – a prestigious youth tournament gathering many top academies from Europe and Asia. This result is considered a positive milestone for U16 PVF when facing one of the world’s most renowned youth training centers.
Previously, U16 PVF had an unlucky start, losing 1-2 to U16 Kashiwa Reysol (Japan). Despite the unfavorable outcome, the young PVF team showed relatively balanced play and commendable fighting spirit.
