The Vietnam futsal squad has reached Jakarta, gearing up for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals.
After a journey lasting nearly 10 hours, the Vietnam futsal team landed in Jakarta and settled at Le Meridien Hotel – the accommodation arranged by the organizers for Coach Diego Giustozzi and his team throughout the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.
On the morning of January 24, the Vietnam futsal team departed from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta. At 6:00 AM, the entire team gathered to prepare their luggage and headed to Tan Son Nhat Airport for departure procedures. The flight took off at 10:30 AM and landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Jakarta) around 1:30 PM after more than two and a half hours of flying.
After completing immigration and baggage claim, Coach Diego Giustozzi and his players boarded a bus arranged by the organizers to travel to Le Meridien Hotel at 3:45 PM. Although Jakarta’s traffic was quite busy, there were no traffic jams, allowing the team to arrive at their accommodation as planned.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the whole team had a light meal before returning to their rooms to rest. It was noted that Le Meridien also hosts several other teams participating in the tournament, such as Lebanon, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, and Iraq. The facilities and rooms here are highly rated, ensuring proper support for players’ daily activities and physical recovery.
After resting for over an hour, the Vietnam futsal team held a training session in the late afternoon of the same day. The first practice in Jakarta focused mainly on relaxation to help players shake off fatigue from the long journey. According to the coaching staff, the team’s physical condition and health are stable, ready to enter the final preparation phase before officially competing in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals.
In this tournament, the Vietnam futsal team is placed in Group B with very strong opponents, including the reigning Asian runner-up Thailand, Kuwait, and Lebanon.
Before departure, the Vietnam futsal team completed their training phase at the Chanh Hung ward futsal stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), and played important friendly matches, including two games against the Afghanistan futsal team to assess the squad, refine tactics, and enhance competitive resilience. The official roster of 14 players has been finalized by Head Coach Diego Giustozzi, ready to face challenges on the Asian stage.
