Kane scores like a machine but still falls short in the Ballon d'Or race

Harry Kane scores impressively at Bayern Munich but is still considered lacking "defining moments," a key factor in the Ballon d'Or race.

Harry Kane is experiencing a breakout season in Bayern Munich's colors, but according to former German player Robert Huth, the English striker still faces a significant disadvantage in the Ballon d'Or race.

Despite being rated by many experts, including Peter Crouch, as a strong contender due to his astonishing scoring efficiency, Kane is said to lack the "explosive factor" that often makes the difference for Ballon d'Or winners.

According to Huth, superstars like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, or previously Cristiano Ronaldo often create extraordinary moments: dribbling from midfield themselves, bypassing multiple defenders, and scoring spectacular goals. These are iconic images that easily leave a deep impression on fans and professionals.

"Kane doesn't score many 'wow' goals. He is very efficient, but lacks moments that make people marvel," Huth commented.

The former defender who played for Chelsea and Leicester City also emphasized that this is not criticism, but rather a difference in playing style. Kane remains one of the most complete and consistent forwards in the world today.

In fact, the numbers of the England captain are extremely impressive: after 41 matches across all competitions this season, he has scored 49 goals and added 5 assists—a performance few players achieve.

However, according to Huth, lacking iconic goals could disadvantage Kane in the individual awards race, where emotional impact and visual imprint play a huge role.

In that context, Kane still has opportunities to improve his standing as Bayern enters the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid. After a 2-1 win in the first leg, the German representative holds a significant advantage and could certainly advance further.

If he continues his scoring form and contributes to Bayern conquering the European title, Kane could completely dispel all doubts even without needing "flashy" goals.
