Assistant Coach Park Hang Seo Takes Over the 'Hot Seat' at Ninh Binh Club

Interim Coach Vu Tien Thanh ceases his duties as head coach of Ninh Binh Club, relinquishing the role to former assistant of Coach Park Hang Seo, Bae Ji Won.

In the plan to restructure the coaching staff for the 2026/27 season, the leadership of Ninh Binh Club assigned Vu Tien Thanh to take on the Technical Director role, while granting direct coaching authority to Korean Coach Bae Ji Won. Previously, Vu Tien Thanh was dispatched from HAGL Club to serve as interim head coach.

Bae Ji Won, born in 1963 in Korea, once played and studied football in Germany. He began his coaching career at age 28 and holds all football coaching licenses from the German Football Association. He completed physical training certification at Kiel University Medical Center and the highest-level football coaching qualification at Cologne Sports University.

Meanwhile, his coaching career started at Seoul University, then moved to Korean professional clubs like Jeonbuk Hyundai, Busan Icons, Pohang Steelers, Ulsan Hyundai, and Gangwon. In 2017, Bae Ji Won worked as fitness coach for the Vietnam National Team and U23 under Coach Park Hang-seo, parting ways after winning the 2018 AFF Cup.

According to inquiries, the "sudden" invitation was recently made by Ninh Binh Club leadership and quickly received approval from Bae Ji Won, former assistant of Coach Park Hang Seo.

Bae Ji Won will lead Ninh Binh Club until the end of the 2025/26 season before the club makes further personnel considerations.
