Neymar uses four words for Ronaldo: 'He is...'

Forward Neymar expressed admiration for his senior Cristiano Ronaldo with an extremely concise compliment.

In a video posted on his YouTube official channel, Neymar introduced the collection of match jerseys and personal honors he accumulated throughout his professional career. This collection includes memorabilia associated with the clubs he played for, the Brazilian national team, along with many items from athletes he admires.

Prominent among them is the Real Madrid jersey from the 2017/18 season with the familiar number 7 on the back. When introducing this special memorabilia, Neymar couldn't hide his admiration with four words: “Cristiano Ronaldo… He is a beast!”, meaning “Cristiano Ronaldo… He is a monster!”. Additionally, the superstar born in 1992 displayed many other notable artifacts, including the match jersey of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from his time playing for AC Milan.

This is not the first time the Brazilian forward has expressed admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview in 2020, Neymar once shared: “I greatly respect what he has created in history. He is a role model I always follow. He has been at the top for 10 years, like Messi, and all of us aspire to reach their level.”

Neymar's admiration for Ronaldo stems from childhood, when he watched CR7 shine in the Manchester United jersey. Even when having the opportunity to face him directly on the pitch, that affection and respect have never changed.

Throughout his career, Neymar has faced Cristiano Ronaldo eight times, all at the club level. The first seven encounters occurred in El Clasico matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid from 2013 to 2017, with four wins for Neymar, two for Ronaldo, and one draw. The most recent meeting took place in 2018, when Real Madrid defeated PSG 3-1 in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Currently, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are entering the final stages of their peak careers.

At the age of 41, Ronaldo faces the opportunity to win his first official title in Saudi Arabia as Al Nassr holds a significant advantage in the Saudi Pro League championship race. Afterwards, CR7 will focus entirely on the Portuguese national team for the 2026 World Cup, the only title missing from his vast collection.

Meanwhile, Neymar is racing against time to prove himself to coach Carlo Ancelotti, aiming to secure a spot with the Brazilian national team for the planet's biggest football festival next summer.
