Thai National Women's Football Team Head Coach Netipong Sritongin expressed his satisfaction after leading his players to win the FIFA Series 2026 hosted on home soil.
In the final match, the Thai women's team defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo with a score of 2-0. The two goals were scored by Matilda Mortensson and Wiranya Kaewkasikarn, securing a convincing victory for the host team.
Speaking after the match, Coach Netipong Sritongin emphasized that teamwork was the key to success: “Everyone gave their utmost effort and fought 100%. I am very pleased with the result. This achievement is not due to any single individual, but the combined effort of the entire team – from the coaching staff, management, medical team, to the players.”
The coach also shared an interesting detail about Wiranya Kaewkasikarn's decisive goal late in the match. The coaching staff specifically instructed her to confidently take the shot instead of passing: “In that situation, we asked Im (Wiranya) not to pass back but to shoot with confidence. She had just entered the field, had plenty of energy, and could create a breakthrough better than anyone else.”
Additionally, the head coach of the Thai women's team expressed gratitude to the fans: “I want to thank the fans in Ratchaburi and all Thai football supporters who came in large numbers and always backed the team.”
Following this championship, the Thai women's team will quickly shift focus to their next goal. The coaching staff plans to hold meetings to arrange training plans, preparing for the 2026 Asian Games taking place next September.
