Southeast Asian Fans: 'Vietnam U17 is the top contender for the championship'

The surprising win of Malaysia U17 against Indonesia U17 ignited a debate explosion in the Southeast Asian online community, as numerous comments both commended Malaysia and asserted Vietnam's dominance.

The second match of Group A in the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship unfolded with an unforeseen scenario. Following a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Vietnam U17 in their opening match, Malaysia U17 entered the clash against host Indonesia with a nothing-to-lose mentality. Conversely, Indonesia, buoyed by home crowd support and confidence after their crushing win over Timor Leste, was expected to easily secure all three points.
