Vietnamese overseas player scores, V-League team wins convincingly in debut match under Korean coach

Ninh Binh Club wins convincingly on the debut day of Korean coach Bae Ji Won. Meanwhile, Hong Linh Ha Tinh narrowly defeats Hai Phong Club.

The match between Ninh Binh and PVF-CAND in round 19 of V-League 2025/26 started with high intensity from the opening minutes. This was also the debut match of Mr. Bae Ji Won, former assistant to coach Park Hang Seo, as head coach of Ninh Binh Club.

The first notable opportunity came for Ninh Binh in the 12th minute, but Gia Hung's header inside the box went off target. On the opposite side, PVF-CAND also had a notable chance in the 23rd minute when Mpande intercepted the ball near the box and broke forward. However, goalkeeper Van Lam excellently rushed out to block the shot from the PVF-CAND player.

Just three minutes later, the lead doubled. In the 38th minute, Vietnamese overseas player Tran Thanh Trung decisively dribbled inside the box before finishing accurately, raising the score to 2-0.

Before the first half ended, Ninh Binh had another shot hit the post in the 42nd minute from Thanh Thinh's strike. The first half concluded with a 3-0 score favoring Ninh Binh Club.

Moving into the second half, PVF-CAND tried to find a goal but lacked sharpness. In the 59th minute, Thai Ba Dat's shot hit the post of Dang Van Lam's goal. One minute later, Vo Anh Quan shot into Ninh Binh Club's net, but the away team's goal was denied due to an offside violation.

In the 61st minute, Ninh Binh Club increased the lead when Van Thuận intelligently moved to receive a perfectly set-up pass from Friday before finishing to raise the score to 3-0. This goal also sealed the match result.
