Roberto De Zerbi warns Tottenham Hotspur players after dramatic draw with Brighton & Hove Albion
Manager Roberto De Zerbi delivered a stern message to Tottenham players after the 2-2 draw against Brighton in the Premier League, while asserting his team still has the capability to win all five remaining matches to secure their league status.

Tottenham lets victory slip away in the final moments
In this match, Tottenham seemed to have secured their first win of 2026 when Xavi Simons scored a stunning goal to put the hosts ahead late in the game. However, Kevin Danso's mistake allowed Georginio Rutter to equalize 2-2 in the 95th minute.
This result keeps Tottenham in the relegation zone, placed 18th in the standings, one point behind West Ham United and having played one more match.
Nevertheless, Manager De Zerbi remained optimistic: "It's not over yet. We have five matches left, equivalent to 15 points, and this team is capable of winning all five consecutively. This isn't arrogance, but belief in the squad's quality."

Manager De Zerbi still has reasons to be confident
The Italian coach also demanded his players maintain a positive attitude during this decisive phase: "I have no time for negativity or sadness. The players must be strong, focused for the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and enter training with a smile. Otherwise, they can leave immediately."
Additionally, De Zerbi praised Simons and defended Danso after his late-game error: "Danso played an excellent match. I accept mistakes when a player dares to play with personality, rather than competing without courage."
On the other side, Brighton's manager Fabian Hürzeler commended his team's fighting spirit and believes Tottenham has the quality to overcome their crisis.
