PVF-CAND coach candidly discusses the reasons for the bitter defeat

Coach Tran Tien Dai identifies the missed chance as the pivotal moment that caused PVF-CAND to suffer a heavy defeat against Ninh Binh Club.

Coach Tran Tien Dai frankly pointed out the turning point that led PVF-CAND to suffer a heavy 0-3 defeat against Ninh Binh Club away, in a match where his team once had the opportunity to take the lead.

At Ninh Binh Stadium, the home team effectively seized the moment to secure all three points with goals from Gia Hung, Thanh Trung, and Van Thuan. Meanwhile, PVF-CAND missed their best chance in the first half when Mpande failed to beat goalkeeper Dang Van Lam in a one-on-one situation, thereby losing a crucial psychological advantage.

Coach Tran Tien Dai states that missing the opportunity was the cause of PVF-CAND's failure.

Evaluating the match situation, Coach Tran Tien Dai believes the moment of missing the chance was precisely the turning point leading to his team's defeat. He shared: “Our team had an opportunity in the first half. But after missing it, we conceded a goal, and the formation pushed higher. Ninh Binh utilized deep attacking situations and transitions, and our defense couldn't hold. That is the reason for our defeat today. Congratulations to Ninh Binh team.”

The PVF-CAND coach also emphasized the importance of the opening goal in a balanced match situation: “If we had scored first, the players might have been more confident, played more coherently, and things could have been different.”According to him, failing to seize the moment caused the team to fall into a passive position and forced them to push the formation higher, creating many gaps behind.

PVF-CAND suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat against Ninh Binh Club.

Despite facing difficulties in personnel due to the absence of some key players, Coach Tran Tien Dai did not use that as an excuse. He candidly acknowledged: “Injuries and suspensions are normal occurrences, especially in the second phase. The absence of a few key players also affects us, but the substitutes tried their best. Since we wanted to play an attacking style, losing 1-0, 2-0, or 3-0 is understandable. We pushed the formation high but couldn't score a tying goal.”

Comparing with the previous draw between the two teams in the National Cup, Mr. Dai pointed out the differences in psychology and match objectives: “In V.League we desperately need points, and our psychology was affected. In the National Cup, we didn't overly emphasize reaching the semi-finals. We focused entirely on V.League, yet failing there cannot be justified by the nature of the competition. But our playing style in the second half needs review; our defense collapsed.”This defeat caused PVF-CAND to miss the chance to improve their position and leaves much work ahead in the pressure-filled relegation battle.
