Beating Dong A Thanh Hoa 2-0 helped Cong An Ha Noi clinch the V-League 2025/26 title three matches ahead of schedule, yet the "police force club" has no intention of slowing down, with a chance to break a series of historic milestones.
Cong An Ha Noi is not just a champion of the V-League 2025/26 in a highly convincing manner, but they are also on the verge of turning this season into a historic landmark for Vietnamese football.
A 2-0 win over Dong A Thanh Hoa in round 23 allowed CAHN to secure the V-League title three games early. This marks the second time the "police team" has lifted the championship in just four seasons in Vietnam's top flight. However, the ambitions of coach Alexandre Polking's squad are far from over.
Though they have already achieved their biggest goal of the season, CAHN is determined to win their final two matches against Becamex Ho Chi Minh City and The Cong - Viettel to show gratitude to their fans. At the same time, Polking's side aims to break several records once considered "untouchable" in the V-League.
Most notably is the points record. Currently, the "police team" holds 61 points after 24 rounds. CAHN is just three points behind the 64-point milestone set by Hanoi in the 2018 season. With two games remaining, Polking's squad can easily surpass this achievement to become the champion with the highest points total in V-League history.
Furthermore, the V-League 2025/26 champion is also poised to break the record for most wins in a single season. The "purple team" of the 2018 season won 20 matches in 26 rounds, while CAHN already has 19 victories with two games left to play.
The goal difference is another milestone that the "capital team" is threatening. Hanoi currently holds the record with a +42 difference, while the "police team" has already reached +36. If they maintain their devastating form, CAHN can rewrite history.
Beyond team achievements, Polking's players also dominate individual races. Foreign striker Alan Sebastiao Alexandre leads the V-League 2025/26 golden boot race with 15 goals, four ahead of Goncalves Silva Lucas Vinicius (The Cong - Viettel). Meanwhile, Nguyen Dinh Bac tops the domestic golden boot with 10 goals, tied with Do Hoang Hen (Hanoi). If they keep up their current form, the "police team" will become one of the few clubs in V-League history to simultaneously have both the top foreign and domestic scorers in the same season.
Remarkably, at the end of the first half of this season, CAHN had already equaled the 13-match unbeaten streak set by the "purple team" in 2018. This shows that Polking's championship is not a temporary explosion but the result of a stable, deep squad.
From a team newly promoted to the V-League to the champion, Cong An Ha Noi is making the rest of the league look at them with completely different eyes. If they continue to win their final two matches, the "police team" can turn the 2025/26 season into one of the most glorious chapters in Vietnamese football history.
