Coach Park Hang Seo has officially taken the helm at Thai League 2 side Kanchanaburi Power FC.
Thai club Kanchanaburi Power FC has officially appointed Park Hang-seo, former head coach of the Vietnam national team, as the new captain of the team to prepare for the 2026/27 Thai League 2 season.
Kanchanaburi Power FC entered the previous Thai League season as a newcomer with the big goal of finishing in the Top 3. However, this top-tier competition proved much tougher than expected. The club underwent major upheavals, changing up to 4 coaches (Dusit Chalermsan, Joaquín Gómez, Wasapol Kaewpaluk, and Lee Jung Soo), and ultimately was relegated to Thai League 2 from the highest league, finishing 16th in the 2025/26 season.

Most recently, Kanchanaburi Power FC surprised everyone by announcing that Mr. Park Hang Seo, the South Korean strategist and former head coach of the Vietnam national team, would take over the hot seat. The aim of this contract is to elevate the club and bring it back to Thailand's top league soon.
Coach Park Hang Seo achieved tremendous success with Vietnamese football during his tenure from 2017 to 2023. Before agreeing to lead Kanchanaburi Power FC, Park was serving as Vice President of the Korea Football Association (KFA) and as Senior Advisor for Bac Ninh Club in the Vietnamese First Division (V.League 2).
Through his agency DJ Management, Coach Park Hang Seo shared the reason for moving to Thailand: "I chose Thailand because it remains an unfinished challenge. The long-term vision and sincerity towards football of Kanchanaburi FC have once again ignited the passion within me. I want to prove that age can never be a barrier to dreams and new challenges."
Coach Park also emphasized that his move to Thailand does not mean the end of his connection with Vietnam. He hopes to continue contributing to the development of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) football by creating more opportunities for young Vietnamese players as well as players in the region through exchange activities, overseas projects, and football development programs.
