AC Milan has officially dismissed head coach Max Allegri, sports director Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada via a tough statement, following the club's labeling of the recent campaign as "an unforgivable defeat."
The Rossoneri needed just one point in the final round of Serie A to secure a Champions League spot for next season. Before the decisive matchday, Milan held a two-point lead over Como and also had the edge in head-to-head records.
However, the San Siro side caused a massive disappointment by losing 2-1 at home to Cagliari, a team with nothing left to fight for. Milan had taken a 1-0 lead but completely lost control of the game in the second half.

Milan will not be competing in the Champions League next season.
Earlier reports in Italy had revealed a "Monday night purge" at Milan, as owner RedBird's Gerry Cardinale decided to overhaul the entire management structure, keeping only special advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
This information was quickly confirmed when Milan posted an official statement on the club's website.
"Following the disappointment of the previous season, the owners' objective for the club was to return to the Champions League and build a foundation to consistently compete for the Serie A title.
"For most of the campaign, we were among the top two teams and had a realistic chance of challenging for the Scudetto. However, the final stretch of the season was the complete opposite of what the team had shown earlier, and the disappointing defeat in the last match turned this season into an undeniable failure.
"It is time for change and a comprehensive restructuring of the football department. With immediate effect, we are ending our cooperation with CEO Giorgio Furlani, sports director Igli Tare, head coach Massimiliano Allegri, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. We thank them for their efforts and dedication to AC Milan during their time at the club.

Allegri has been sacked by Milan.
"Further announcements regarding replacements will be made in due course, with the aim of preparing as best as possible for the new season."
In the past season, Allegri led Milan for a total of 42 matches across all competitions, recording 22 wins, 10 draws, and 10 losses.
After this major overhaul, Cardinale and Ibrahimovic will work together to build an entirely new structure for the team, from head coach and sports director to CEO.
Furlani was a member of Milan's board of directors from 2019 before becoming CEO in 2022, representing Elliott Management, the club's former owner. However, after Cardinale completed the refinancing of the loan with Elliott, Furlani's role was no longer considered necessary.
Meanwhile, Igli Tare and Max Allegri had only joined Milan last summer but were dismissed after less than a year on the job.
Geoffrey Moncada is also a long-standing figure with the Rossoneri. He served as head of scouting from 2018 before being appointed technical director in 2023.
